This is a basic calculator based on three of the most commonly used formulas for calculating your ideal heart rate zones for exercising and training. The calculation results provide and zones for endurance or burst exercises.
About:
The provided maximum heart rate (maxHR) is the average of three different mathematical formulas that is commonly used to determine the maxHR.
The preferred aerobic training zone is between 50% and 85% of the maxHR. The ideal training HR is the mid-point between the lower and upper training zones.
For endurance training it is suggested to train in the lower half close to the ideal training HR.
For burst training it is suggested to train in the upper half close to the maximum training HR.
Trainers quite often suggest training 90% of your session at the ideal training HR with burst to the maximum training HR for 10% of the session. Best results are usually obtained in repetition sets (like cycling at ideal training HR for nine minutes, then at maximum training HR for one minute (one set); do multiple sets as preferred).
NOTE: It is not unusual for an individual to reach a heart rate above the indicated maxHR. We strongly recommend not exercising beyond the indicated maximum training HR.
